I aspire to capture the natural beauty of flowers in a lasting form that will never wilt.

The delicate elegance of flowers is a central inspiration for my creative pursuits. I strive to recreate the beauty of plants through the use of natural materials, such as cotton and linen, which have become beloved mediums for my work. , Since my youth, I have been fascinated with fabric and sewing, which led me to pursue a degree in fiber art and begin my career as a quilt-maker in Seoul. Upon immigrating to America, I became passionate about flower as I learned how to create floral arrangements. .

However, as much as I enjoyed working with live materials, it saddened me to be constantly reminded of how short a flower’s lifespan is. Connecting my passion for sewing and floral arrangement, I aspire to create lasting pieces that speak to the timeless quality of nature. . The lone wildflower on a hill or a bundle of blossoms displayed in a jar depicted in fiber and thread becomes my work of joy. I use raw edge applique technique, in which fabric is cut out and sewn back on, to bring my creation to life in three- dimensional space. .

My work culminate in a handmade wooden frame that holds everything together. The frame, made with carefully selected wood pieces celebrating natural grains and knots, compliments my work and becomes an integral part of the piece. . All elements of my works are selected to be a part of nature.
